Mr. Gibbons is a highly experienced and skilled criminal defense attorney. He began his legal career as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Cuyahoga County and later served as an Assistant United States Attorney, Department of Justice, Criminal Division. He has successfully defended thousands of criminal cases in Federal, State and Municipal Courts in Jury trials or plea resolution. He has been an Attorney for 36 years and has maintained his criminal defense practice for the last 24 years in downtown Cleveland, serving clients in Cuyahoga County and Northern Ohio.
Personal Background
Mr. Gibbons, a graduate of St. Joseph High School, is a lifelong Clevelander. He is a Graduate of Marquette University Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the Cleveland Marshall College of Law of Cleveland State University. He has served as an Adjunct Instructor teaching Criminal Law and Procedure, Rules of Evidence and Trial Procedure at Cleveland State University Law School.

This seminar was sponsored by the Federal Bar Association and the Federal Public Defender and provided Mr. Gibbons with updates on Federal Criminal Law, Procedure and Sentencing Law.
Firearms Law for Attorneys
Mr. Gibbons attended a one day seminar sponsored by the National Business Institute which featured nationally recognized legal experts providing instruction on Federal, State and Municipal firearm laws.
Death Penalty Seminar
Mr. Gibbons attended a two day seminar sponsored by the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys which provided instruction both in the Trial of and Appeal of verdicts in Capital cases.
O.V.I. Law Update
Mr. Gibbons attended this day-long seminar sponsored by the Ohio State Bar Association which provided instruction on Impaired Driving and License Suspension Law in Ohio.
Municipal Court Update SEMINAR
This seminar was sponsored by the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. Mr. Gibbons attended this seminar that consisted of instruction and changes in Municipal Court practice, in Domestic Violence law and O.V.I. defense, applicable to all of the Municipal Courts in Northeast Ohio.

Representation of Defendants with Mental Health Issues
Finally, Mr. Gibbons participated in this seminar which was sponsored by the Court of Common Pleas for Cuyahoga County and provided instruction on representing criminal defendants with mental health, drug and alcohol issues in the Common Pleas Court.
